Biography
Nasri Sayegh is a Lebanese writer and journalist born in 1944. He studied arts, philosophy, and sociology and combined teaching and research with a long career in writing and journalism.
He held several senior editorial positions, including editor of Fikr magazine and Nidaa al-Watan newspaper and deputy editor of As-Safir. His career also included Arab journalism in Paris, while his writing combined political analysis, intellectual debate, and literary prose.
His books include Bowling in Baghdad, If I Were a Jew, I Am Not Lebanese Yet, The Killer If He Tells, Dialogue of the Barefoot and the Scorpions, and Wrestlers of Tyranny. His connection to Machghara is also documented through his candidacy in the town’s 2016 municipal election and through later writings about its memory and social change.
