Biography
Ibrahim Alfred Traboulsi is a Lebanese lawyer, university lecturer, and legal researcher. He practised law for more than fifty years, taught in law faculties, and specialized in personal-status and family law, private international law, and the relationship between civil legislation and religious legal systems.
He participated in public legal life and in professional and legislative bodies, including work connected with law reform and disciplinary responsibilities within the Beirut Bar Association. In his writing and interviews, he advocated the development of family legislation and structured debate on civil marriage and the rights of women and children.
He authored Constants and Changes in Personal Status Systems: Half a Century at the Bar and in Public Life, bringing together his professional and scholarly experience. He was honoured for his legal and ecclesiastical service and received the Order of Saint Gregory.
