Ghassan Hajjar

Biography
Ghassan Hajjar joined An-Nahar newspaper in 1996 and later held senior editorial and management responsibilities within the institution.
He supervised the An-Nahar Training and Research Center and taught media studies at the Antonine University and the Lebanese University, combining professional journalism with education.
Hajjar participated in social organisations and international initiatives concerned with children’s rights. He has also written extensively about Machghara, its people, and its social and cultural memory.
Alongside his editorial responsibilities, he supervised the An-Nahar Training and Research Center and served as secretary of the Nahar al-Shabab association, helping train young journalists and connect newsroom practice with university education.
He previously served as global vice-president of the MIDADE movement, an international organisation concerned with children’s rights, and continued writing articles that document Machghara’s people, memory, and social transformation.
