Father Youssef Ghannam
Salvatorian monk, priest, and educator from MachgharaA monk and priest born in Machghara who held administrative and educational responsibilities in the Basilian Salvatorian Order and is regarded as the first founder of its school and seminary.
Biography
Father Youssef Ghannam was born in Machghara. He made his religious profession on 7 November 1854 and was ordained a priest on 1 January 1863 in the Basilian Salvatorian Order.
From 1874 onward, he held successive administrative responsibilities in the order, serving as a councillor in several chapters and receiving the leadership of a monastery alongside his administrative duties.
He directed the novitiate and the Salvatorian school for many years. The order regards him as the first founder of the Salvatorian school and seminary, and his service combined religious life, administration, formation, and education.
