Judge Dr Abdul Latif Mustafa al-Husseini

Judge, university lecturer, and former Government Commissioner at the State Council

A Lebanese judge and university lecturer who held senior judicial posts, including First President of the Courts of Appeal in North Lebanon and Government Commissioner at the State Council.

Biography

Judge Dr Abdul Latif Mustafa al-Husseini was born in Baalbek on 27 August 1948 and entered the Lebanese judiciary on 16 July 1973. His career included service as an acting adviser at the Beirut Court of Appeal, investigating judge in Beirut, and president of the Ninth Chamber of the Misdemeanour Court of Appeal in Mount Lebanon.

He became president of the First Chamber of the Court of Appeal in North Lebanon and later First President of the Courts of Appeal there. He also served on the Higher Judicial Council and chaired the Judges’ Mutual Fund from 2009 to 2010.

In 2010, he was appointed Government Commissioner at the State Council. He held a State Doctorate in Law and postgraduate degrees in private and public law and taught legal subjects at university, combining judicial service with academic work.

Served as First President of the Courts of Appeal in North Lebanon and as a member of the Higher Judicial Council.

Held the post of Government Commissioner at the Lebanese State Council.

Combined judicial work with university teaching and legal scholarship.
