Abbas Mohammad Hadla
Researcher, archivist, research director, and civic activistA researcher and archivist born in Machghara who studied media and documentation, rose to research leadership at UMAM Documentation and Research, and participated in Lebanese cultural and civic initiatives.
Biography
Abbas Mohammad Hadla was born in Machghara on 15 June 1980. He graduated from the Lebanese University in media and documentation in 2003 and pursued work in archives, public memory, and research on Lebanon’s social and political history.
He joined UMAM Documentation and Research in 2006 as an archive researcher and documentalist, later becoming senior researcher, coordinator of the Arabic-language archive, and research director. He contributed to the review and preparation of publications and studies on Lebanese history, memory, and social and political movements.
He has headed the Hayya Bina association and participated in founding the Lokman Slim Foundation. He has also taken part in civic and political debate and appeared in media as a researcher and analyst.
