The name of the association shall be:  The United People of Machghara,   hereafter referred to as U.P.M.

The U.P.M. shall be an independent non-profit and non-political association.

The United People of Machghara shall have the following aims and objectives:

1. To be able to gather, organize and unite the American – Lebanese people of Machghara descent.
2. The association shall be as a bridge between the people of Machghara in this country and our people in the Mother land.
3. The association shall provide recreational and social activities and introduce our children to each other.
4. To assist and provide social and humaitarian aids to our educational and medical institutions back home, as well as aids to individuals such as orphans and needy people.
5. Establish good relation and communciation with all Arab and American organizations as well as the Lebanese government.
